Dave Timothy joins Magpie at a pivotal time, as the agency builds on more than a decade and a half of purposeful creativity and looks ahead to an ambitious new phase of growth.
Previously MD of Robot Food, with a proven track record in scaling creative agencies and working with some of the world’s biggest brands, Dave brings extensive experience in developing partnerships, delivering measurable impact, and championing innovative approaches to client collaboration.
What drew me to Magpie is its unique combination of deep community insight, rigorous behavioural science, and purposeful creativity. This isn’t just about creating campaigns; it’s about changing human behaviour in ways that improve lives. That’s a rare and powerful mission, and I’m excited to help the agency expand its partnerships and amplify its impact both in the UK and internationally.
Over the past 16 years, Magpie has gained a strong reputation for delivering evidence-based creative campaigns that tackle society’s biggest challenges, from public health to sustainability and education. Our team blends behavioural science with co-creation and has made it a trusted partner for organisations seeking meaningful and measurable change.
Magpie Co-founder Ged Savva welcomed the appointment, saying:
We’re thrilled to have Dave join the Magpie team at such a milestone moment in our journey. His expertise in scaling agencies, coupled with his passion for purposeful creativity, aligns perfectly with our mission to change behaviour for good. As we celebrate 16 years of social impact, Dave’s leadership will help us build stronger partnerships, explore new sectors, and expand the reach of our work, while staying true to what makes Magpie special.
Dave’s previous roles were about maximising brand relevance, largely in the FMCG space, so he is well versed in working closely with clients to amplify impact and create disruption. That takes real collaboration, but above all, it requires having a point of view and being able to back it up.
The job here is no different. I spoke with a Magpie client this week who said what they really value is agencies that bring fresh thinking to sectors where campaigns can often feel tired or predictable. That’s the mentality I want to bring, because whether we’re selling products or promoting sexual health, we’re speaking to the same person and their time is precious so the bar should always be set high.
Looking ahead, Dave sees Magpie’s growth as a balance of ambition and authenticity. The opportunity is to grow by staying true to our values, delivering work that makes a difference while building long-lasting, trusted partnerships. Whether it’s with communities here in the UK or further afield, the goal is the same: meaningful change that lasts.
