We are pleased to announce the official launch of Today is the Day, a new campaign co-created with communities across South and East of Leeds.
Today is the Day celebrates local people and their stories around stopping smoking. We have been interviewing Leeds residents who have visited their free, friendly and local stop smoking service and managed to quit.
Leeds South and East has some of the highest rates of smoking in Yorkshire. We also know many local people really want to quit smoking, but find it tough, so we want them to know that the NHS Leeds Stops Smoking Service can help
This campaign is about real people and their stories. We have created video interviews online so you can hear about it in their words. It is celebratory, colourful and supportive.
We have been working to reposition the Stop Smoking Services in Leeds so that more people understand how friendly and effective the programme can be. The language, content and ‘look and feel’ has been developed with communities to ensure that they feel empowered by this new approach.
