Following the success of the Seriously campaign across Leeds, we’re thrilled to announce we’ll be launching a brand new strand of the campaign in Sunderland.

Having already received 17,000 pledges to take antibiotics seriously in Leeds, we are excited to get to work spreading this vital message to communities in a brand new city.

Antibiotic resistance is a hot topic at the moment, with only last week the government releasing a plan of action to tackle the dangers of drug-resistant superbugs on both our health and the planet. Research has found that an urgent global response to antibiotic resistance is needed, as if we continue to misuse these drugs at our current rate, they’ll become ineffective to the point that even paper-cuts could become fatal.

Working with our newest client, NHS Sunderland CCG, the Seriously campaign will focus on nine areas of Sunderland and South Tyneside, including Southwick, Hetton, and South Shields. We’ll be working closely with these nine areas to develop a more in-depth understanding of the communities and gain insight into current behaviour surrounding the use of antibiotics.

We’ve already received great support from a number of GPs and pharmacists across the city and can’t wait to get started!
