Members of WIN will have access to a wealth of knowledge, specifically targeted at creating and delivering successful campaigns, which reflect key trends in the healthcare industry, such as obesity, smoking, alcohol-related harm and mental health support.

The WIN steering group, made up key professionals in the health and behaviour change industry, met for the first time in August to discuss the aims and aspirations for the network.

The steering group includes:

Alex Hammond, Leeds Community Healthcare Trust
Catherine McGrath, Magpie
Darren De Souza, Community Pharmacy West Yorkshire
Dr. Matt Mulvey, University of LeedsUniversity of Leeds
Ged Savva, Magpie
Jen Wren, Slanjayvah Danza
Kimberley Robinson, Keep Real
Marc Silverside, NHS Digital
Penny Allison, NHS Leeds CCG
Susan Walls, Kissing it Better

They agreed on the following principles to form the foundations of WIN:

  • WIN will be cross-sector and diverse: The decision-makers and influencers will represent the public, private, and third sectors.
  • WIN will be truly collaborative: we will work together effectively, bringing learnings from a wide range of sources from academic research to practitioner- led campaigns and initiatives.
  • WIN will be welcoming and inclusive: With representatives from every walk of life and profession.
  • WIN will be made up of influencers: Finding the people who have a proven track record in their field and who are willing to share their learnings will be a key factor.

The Network will officially launch on the 22nd October 2018, with a series of varied workshops and talks from health and behaviour change champions leading up to the first WIN Conference in October 2019.

The sessions will give attendees the opportunity to share inspiration, exchange knowledge and add value to wellbeing projects and campaigns across the City of Leeds and beyond.
