We’ve now had our first week with our new Insight Team – they’ve done a great job at being our eyes and ears on campus. Here are some highlights from their first week:

We entered an award to recognise our investment in student employability. Here’s the video we put together to show off what we do.

Two of our students observed companies making the most of student events to promote their brands. Red Bull gave out free drinks at the University of Birmingham american football varsity and Domino’s sponsored a student club night in Hertfordshire giving out pizza and vouchers. Instead of gathering students to an event put on by a company, these brands have targeted existing events where they know students will be.

Do we make the most of student events during a promotional campaign?

Amy reported on RAG week at the University of Leeds. In particular they held a charity Take Me Out event that was really well attended. Students were happy to participate and give money to charity when it was done in a fun and engaging way, rather than guilt-tripping. Students love charity when a buzz is created and it’s fun to give.

When working on charity projects do we create engaging and fun campaigns? Do we create a buzz?
