We’re appealing to friends, family and clients of Magpie to help us with our latest project – we’re building a giant nest!

We’ve been looking to expand our studio space for a while now, but don’t fancy moving house just yet. So instead of spending thousands of pounds on man-made resources, we’ve come up with a solution that will benefit both us and the environment.

We are asking anyone and everyone across Leeds to forage for fallen twigs, sticks and bark to help us build our new creative hub. You can even donate any unwanted kindling, furniture, garden fences, ladders, hockey sticks and toothpicks – you name it, we want it!

The nest will be constructed purely from the natural materials us magpies find in our environment and will hang over The Faversham car park, providing a breathtaking view of campus whilst exposing us to the natural elements of sun, wind and rain.

We also plan to install Lumie Lamps, wind chimes and speakers playing ‘the sounds of nature’ to inspire us be more at peace with our surroundings and therefore aid creative thinking.

We will be accepting donations from 1st April, so we ask you to join us in helping turn our dream into reality.
